Driver Anxiety Assessment
Driver Anxiety Assessment evaluates psychological and physical responses related to driving anxiety, often experienced after an car accident. Conducted by a psychologist and/or an occupational therapist, the assessment includes clinical interviews, anxiety inventories, and functional testing in simulated or real driving environments (when appropriate).

The goal is to assess emotional and physical readiness to resume driving and determine if therapy, gradual exposure, or alternative supports are needed.

This assessment helps address trauma-related driving avoidance, supporting a safe and confident return to independent mobility. It also provides medical and psychological documentation for driver rehabilitation programs and any other purposes.
When is a Driver Anxiety Assessment needed?
This assessment is beneficial for individuals who:
-
Experience fear, panic, or avoidance of driving after a collision,
-
Show signs of post-traumatic stress related to driving,
-
Have delayed return-to-driving despite physical recovery,
-
Require psychological clearance or support for insurance or return-to-work programs,
-
Are struggling with independence due to unresolved driving fears.
