Ophthalmologic Assessment

Ophthalmologic Assessment is a comprehensive eye health evaluation performed by a ophthalmologist. This assessment includes a thorough examination of vision, eye structures, and neurological connections related to sight. It may also involve dilation of the pupils, visual acuity testing, intraocular pressure measurements, and imaging such as OCT or fundus photography.

Patients may undergo additional testing depending on their symptoms, including field of vision tests or assessments for damage to the optic nerve or retina.

When is an Ophthalmologic Assessment needed?

This assessment is typically recommended for individuals who:

  • Have sustained a head or facial trauma in an accident,

  • Experience blurred vision, double vision, or vision loss,

  • Have symptoms such as eye pain, light sensitivity, or floaters,

  • Are being monitored for eye diseases such as glaucoma or retinal damage,

  • Require medical documentation of eye-related impairments post-injury.
