Neuropsychological Assessment

Neuropsychological Assessment is an in-depth evaluation of brain function, conducted by a neuropsychologist. It involves a comprehensive battery of standardized tests that measure cognitive skills such as attention, memory, language, executive functioning, and processing speed.

The process includes interviews, review of medical history, and behavioral observations. This assessment is often used to determine the effects of brain injury, neurological disorders, or psychological conditions on cognitive performance. This assessment provides a detailed understanding of how the brain is functioning post-injury.

When is a Neuropsychological Assessment needed?

This assessment is essential for patients who:

  • Have sustained a concussion or traumatic brain injury (TBI),

  • Experience changes in memory, thinking, or personality,

  • Have conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, MS, or dementia,

  • Require confirmation of cognitive capacity for legal or insurance cases,

  • Are struggling to return to work or school due to cognitive symptoms.
